La Dernière Marche (1995)
Sœur Helen Prejean s'occupe de l'éducation d'enfants défavorisés dans un quartier populaire de la Nouvelle-Orléans quand elle reçoit une lettre d'un certain Matthew Poncelet, condamné à mort pour le viol et le meurtre d'une jeune fille et de son ami. Malgré l'atrocité des crimes commis, Helen croit en la rédemption de Matthew et l'aide à se défendre en appel au sein des différentes juridictions américaines. Portée par une foi inébranlable, elle devient sa conseillère spirituelle et l'accompagne tout au long de son chemin vers le couloir de la mort afin de sauver son âme.
