Buffalo '66 (1998)
Après cinq années passées à la prison de Buffalo, Billy Brown est libéré. Il part rendre visite à ses parents, qui ignorent tout de la nature véritable de sa disparition, et kidnappe sur sa route une jeune étudiante nommée Layla. Il lui demande alors de jouer le rôle de l'épouse fictive qui lui a jusqu'à présent servi d'alibi dans ses lettres.
