Ennemi d'état (1998)
Pour améliorer la protection de l'état, une nouvelle loi sur les télécommunications est proposée aux Américains. Cette loi vise à donner plus de pouvoir aux autorités compétentes, comme l'utilisation de caméras de surveillance et l'écoute téléphonique, dans le but de garantir la sécurité de l'état, aux dépens des libertés individuelles. Robert Clayton Dean, avocat et citoyen américain comme les autres, marié et père d'un petit garçon, reste sceptique lorsque sa femme lui répète que les autorités usent déjà de ces pouvoirs; pourtant, il l'apprendra à ses dépens...
