Shirley MacLaine, née le 24 avril 1934 à Richmond en Virginie, est une actrice et auteure américaine dont la carrière s'étend sur plus de 70 ans. Après des débuts à Broadway, elle fait ses premiers pas au cinéma dans "The trouble with Harry" d'Alfred Hitchcock en 1955. Sa carrière décolle rapidement avec des rôles marquants dans "Around the world in 80 days" (1956), "Some came running" (1958), et "The apartment" (1960). Au fil des décennies, MacLaine enchaîne les performances remarquables : - "The children's hour" (1961) - "Irma la douce" (1963) - "Sweet charity" (1969) - "The turning point" (1977) - "Being there" (1979) - "Tendres Passions" "(Terms of Endearment)" (1983), qui lui vaut l'Oscar de la meilleure actrice - "Steel magnolias" (1989) - "Postcards from the edge" (1990) - "Bernie" (2011) - "The secret life of Walter Mitty" (2013) Elle est apparue dans la série "Only murders in the building" (2022) aux côtés de Steve Martin, Martin Short et Selena Gomez. En 2024, son film "American dreamer" est sorti en salles, deux ans après sa première au Festival du film de Tribeca.
