Affari sporchi (1990)
Un giovane agente, aggregato al dipartimento degli Internal Affairs (commissione disciplinare) della polizia di L.A., indaga sulle losche attività di un sottufficiale corrotto e degenerato fino a trasformare il caso in una missione personale di vendetta. Al suo esordio hollywoodiano il britannico Figgis, che pur non manca di mestiere, si adegua alla volgarità intellettuale e fisica di un copione affidato a un aspro cocktail di violenza ed erotismo, lasciando perdere gli spunti che avrebbero permesso di approfondire i personaggi. Gere esibisce il proprio sessappiglio come una nave inalbera la bandiera di combattimento.
