Giff Hoyt, proprietario di un bar a Cabo Blanco, in Perù, dopo la seconda guerra mondiale è intrappolato tra i nazisti in cerca di rifugio e i loro nemici. Dopo che l'omicidio di un esploratore marino viene spacciato come morte accidentale dalla polizia locale corrotta, Giff si insospettisce. Il capo della polizia intimidisce anche Marie, la nuova arrivata, e Giff interviene per aiutarla. Giff sospetta Beckdorff, un rifugiato nazista che vive nella zona. Beckdorff, emerge, sta cercando di scoprire un tesoro sommerso.
