Charles Bronson, pseudonimo di Charles Dennis Buchinsky (nato il 3 novembre 1921 a Ehrenfeld, in Pennsylvania – morto il 30 agosto 2003 a Los Angeles), è stato un attore statunitense, diventato celebre per il suo aspetto austero, il fisico robusto e i ruoli da uomo duro. Dopo aver iniziato la carriera interpretando soprattutto personaggi secondari, raggiunse la fama internazionale grazie a numerosi film western, bellici e d’azione. Tra i suoi film più noti figurano I magnifici sette (1960), La grande fuga (1963), Quella sporca dozzina (1967) e C’era una volta il West (1968), nel quale interpretò il misterioso Armonica. Nel 1974 consolidò la propria popolarità con Il giustiziere della notte, dando vita al personaggio di Paul Kersey, che avrebbe ripreso in diversi sequel. Negli anni Settanta raggiunse l’apice del successo, diventando una delle maggiori star del cinema d’azione a livello internazionale.
