Il sapore del delitto (1938)
Per trovare conferma a certe sue tesi sulla patologia del delinquente, un neurologo, il dr. Clitterhouse, diviene membro di una banda. Quando, conclusi gli esperimenti, decide di uscire dall'organizzazione, ne uccide il capo che tenta di ricattarlo per via di un manoscritto scientifico rimasto casualmente nelle sue mani. Arrestato per omicidio, il tribunale, ironia della sorte, lo assolve per incapacità di intendere e di volere.
