Nel disperato tentativo di salvare dal fallimento la sua concessionaria di auto usate, Ben Selleck decide di assumere un team di professionisti per fare impennare al massimo le vendite nell'arco del week end del Quattro Luglio. Il gruppo, guidato dall'esuberante e sicuro di sè Don Ready, ha solo 3 giorni per riuscire a vendere più di 200 macchine e le cose si complicano ulteriormente quando il leader Don si innamora di Ivy, la figlia del proprietario della concessionaria.
