Clockers (1995)
Dal romanzo omonimo di Richard Price. Della morte violenta del gestore notturno di un fast food a Brooklyn (New York) si accusa un nero, onesto padre di famiglia, ma l'anziano poliziotto bianco Rocco Klein concentra le indagini su un suo fratello sedicenne che spaccia droga pesante. Sul piano del racconto realistico corale sulla cultura della droga e della violenza nei ghetti neri, alimentata dai mass media, è ineccepibile, ma su quello dei risultati espressivi rivela uno S. Lee riconciliato e un po' incerto. In un primo tempo doveva essere diretto da Martin Scorsese che ne è uno dei produttori.
