Fascino (1944)
La figlia di un violoncellista dell'Opera di Parigi si innamora di un giovane tenore che cerca una scrittura. Anche la fanciulla ha studiato canto e vuol riuscire ad affermarsi sulle scene, ma è malata di tisi. Quando il suo amico riesce a debuttare trionfalmente all'Opera, per non intralciare la sua carriera, decide di rinunciare al suo affetto e di allontanarsi. Si finge stanca di lui e accetta di partire in crociera con un ricco e maturo suo corteggiatore. Qualche tempo dopo, sentendosi ormai alla fine, chiede e ottiene di interpretare la parte di Mimì all'Opera accanto al suo ex-fidanzato. E' qui che il giovane conosce tutta la verità e apprezza l'eroismo della ragazza. Troppo tardi: all'ultimo atto Mimì, stremata di forze, muore realmente tra le braccia di Rodolfo.
