Un giorno a New York (1949)
Gabey, Chip e Ozzie, tre allegri marinai ottengono una licenza di ventiquattr'ore, da passare nella città di New York. Chip, che è in possesso di una vecchia guida, prende il comando delle operazioni e i tre si mettono in marcia alla scoperta della metropoli. Mentre sono nella stazione della metropolitana, un manifesto attira la loro attenzione. Nella foto c'è il ritratto di Ivy Smith, la ragazza che ha vinto il prestigioso concorso di Miss Metropolitana e che, come dice la leggenda, possiede tutte le qualità e le doti desiderabili per essere la donna ideale.
