The Reckoning (2021)
Inghilterra, 1665. La Grande peste ha colpito il paese facendolo crollare in un clima di paura, sfiducia e morte. Disperata e terrorizzata, la popolazione fa affidamento alla superstizione e la Chiesa cattolica ne approfitta crudelmente dando avvio a una caccia delle streghe senza precedenti. Grace Haverstock ha appena seppellito il marito quando, costretta a provvedere da sola a tutti i suoi bisogni, viene guardata con sospetto dai suoi concittadini per la sua indole. Quando il padrone di casa tenta di costringerla a pagargli i suoi debiti con favori sessuali, Grace lo rifiuta con violenza. L'uomo l'accusa allora di stregoneria, facendola rinchiudere in prigione. Qui, Grace affronterà orribili interrogatori per mano dell'inquisitore più spietato della Gran Bretagna.
