Il mistero del cadavere scomparso (1982)
Steve Martin è Rigby Reardon, l'investigatore privato per antonomasia: spietato, rude e sempre a caccia di clienti. Proprio quando è pronto a tutto, entra in scena Juliet Forrest (Rachel Ward) per affidargli un caso: il padre, un famoso scienziato, filantropo e inustriale del formaggio, è morto in circostanze misteriose. La storia sa di marcio e Reardon dovrà seguire un intricato labirinto di indizi per svelare i segreti delle "Liste di Carlotta". Grazie all'aiuto dei suoi "amici" Alan Ladd, Barbara Stanwyck, Ray Milland, Burt Lancaster, Humphrey Bogart, Charles Laughton ecc., reardon riesce ad acciuffare il suo uomo. Un emozionante film d'azione girato nel tipico stile del cinema anni '40!
