North Country - Storia di Josey (2005)
Ispirato a una storia vera, è la storia di Josey Aimes che in cerca di un lavoro, dopo il fallimento del suo matrimonio, torna nel nord Minnesota. E' una madre single con due bambini da mantenere e quindi pensa subito alla fonte di impiego più importante della zona, la miniera di ferro. E' un ambiente maschile non abituato ai cambiamenti. Incoraggiata dall'amica Glory, una delle poche donne in questo settore, Josey entra in miniera. E' pronta ad affrontare un lavoro pericoloso e duro, ma non le molestie sessuali che lei e le altre minatrici si trovano a subire da parte dei colleghi maschi. Quando Josey protesta contro il trattamento che lei e le sue compagne di lavoro subiscono, incontra la resistenza non solo di chi comanda, ma anche della comunità intera che non vuole ascoltare la verità, dei suoi genitori e delle sue stesse colleghe, timorose che le cose peggiorino. Ma Josey troverà il coraggio di lottare per le cose in cui crede, anche se questo significa restare sola...
