La stanza di Marvin (1996)
Bessie e Lee sono due sorelle, una fa la parrucchiera nell'Ohio, ha due figli, uno dei quali con gravi turbe psichiche; l'altra è una zitellona che sta in Florida e che cura da vent'anni il padre malato e una zia svitata che vede solo la televisione. Le due non si filano da anni e per ritrovarsi non si affidano a un programma televisivo: ci pensa un medico a precettare la famiglia. Bessie, infatti, ha la leucemia ed è alla ricerca di un midollo osseo compatibile.
