Dopo aver iniziato la sua carriera nel mondo dello spettacolo con produzioni televisive, Levy ha ottenuto grande popolarità come regista di commedie e film per famiglie, dirigendo titoli come Una notte al museo e i suoi sequel, che hanno riscosso un grande successo internazionale grazie alla loro combinazione di avventura, umorismo ed effetti speciali.
