Shirley MacLean Beaty, nota come Shirley MacLaine (Richmond, 24 aprile 1934), è un'attrice, regista e sceneggiatrice statunitense, sorella maggiore di Warren Beatty. È vincitrice di un Premio Oscar ("Voglia di tenerezza", 1983), quattro Golden Globe, due Premi BAFTA, un Premio Emmy, due Coppa Volpi e due Orso d'argento. Tra le maggiori esponenti del cinema americano, nei suoi sessanta anni di onorata carriera cinematografica ha ottenuto 5 candidature agli Oscar come miglior attrice protagonista per "Qualcuno verrà" (1958), "L'appartamento" (1960), "Irma la dolce" (1963), "Due vite, una svolta" (1977).
