Ethan Green Hawke (nato il 6 novembre 1970) è un attore, scrittore e regista americano. Debuttò al cinema nel 1985 con il film di fantascienza Explorers, prima di apparire come protagonista nel dramma del 1989 Dead Poets Society, considerato il suo ruolo di svolta. Successivamente è apparso in film come White Fang (1991), A Midnight Clear (1992) e Alive (1993) prima di interpretare un ruolo nel dramma della Generazione X del 1994 Reality Bites, per il quale ha ricevuto il plauso della critica. Nel 1995 ha recitato nel dramma romantico Before Sunrise e successivamente nel suo seguito Before Sunset (2004). Nel 2001, Hawke è stato scelto per interpretare un poliziotto alle prime armi in Training Day, per il quale ha ricevuto una nomination al Screen Actors Guild e all'Oscar nella categoria Miglior Attore Non Protagonista. Altri film hanno incluso il film di fantascienza Gattaca (1997), il ruolo principale in Amleto di Michael Almereyda (2000), il thriller d'azione Assault on Precinct 13 (2005) e il crime drama Before the Devil Knows You're Dead (2007).
