Russell Ira Crowe (nato il 7 aprile 1964) è un attore e regista cinematografico. Il suo lavoro sullo schermo gli ha valso vari riconoscimenti, tra cui un Premio Oscar, due Golden Globe e un British Academy Film Award. Crowe nacque in Nuova Zelanda, trascorse dieci anni della sua infanzia in Australia e vi risiedette stabilmente all'età di 21 anni. Ha iniziato a recitare in Australia e ha avuto il suo ruolo di successo in Romper Stomper (1992). Ha ottenuto riconoscimento internazionale alla fine degli anni '90 per i suoi ruoli da protagonista in L.A. Confidential (1997) e The Insider (1999). Crowe ha raggiunto una fama più ampia interpretando il ruolo principale di Gladiator (2000), che gli è valso l'Oscar come miglior attore.
