The Ploughman's Lunch (1983)
Een gewiekste man die als journalist voor de BBC werkt, is voornamelijk erg goed in zelfpromotie. Hij werkt aan een boek over de crisis rond het Suezkanaal van 1956 en hoopt hiermee op een weergaloze carrière. Hij achtervolgt een onderzoekster om zo meer details aan de weet te komen over de crisis. Gaandeweg verliest hij echter de intentie van zijn onderzoek en raakt hij smoorverliefd op de onderzoekster.
