Farnworth, Lancashire, England, UK:
Later vertolkte hij de iconische musketier Porthos, gespeeld door Alexandre Dumas, in drie films van regisseur Richard Lester: The Three Musketeers (1974), The Four Musketeers (1975) en The Return of the Musketeers (1989). Andere films waarin Frank speelde zijn onder meer The Longest Day; Tony Richardsons The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner; Martin Ritts The Molly Maguires; Bob Clarks Murder by Decree; Alan Bridges' The Return of the Soldier (waarvoor hij een BAFTA Award-nominatie ontving); Franco Zeffrelli's Sparrow; en Eric Styles' Dreaming of Joseph Lees.
