The Prince and the Showgirl (1957)
Wanneer een heerszuchtige Europese vorst zijn blik laat vallen op een oogverblindend Amerikaans danseresje, blijkt maar weer dat tegenpolen elkaar aantrekken. De stijve Prins-regent van Karpatië leert in Londen Elsie Marina kennen, een eenvoudig meisje uit Milwaukee, dat aan de kost komt als showgirl en haar gebrek aan sociale verfijning compenseert met een flinke dosis gezond verstand. Hun eigenaardige verhouding, waarbij niet echt duidelijk is wie eigenlijk wie verleidt, veroorzaakt de nodige complicaties en hilariteit. Een hartverwarmende en geestige klassieker naar het toneelstuk The Sleeping Prince van Terence Rattigan.
