Captain Liebauge ist Erfinder mit Leib und Seele. Seine Zeitmaschine katapultiert ihn von New York in die ferne Zeit der Dinosaurier. Endlich kann er echte Urzeitriesen beobachten. Besonders mag er Rex, Woog, Dweeb und Elsa. Mit Hilfe eines Spezialfutters verwandelt er die Vier in winzige, friedliche Dinos und nimmt sie mit in die Gegenwart. Zurück in New York sollen die Vier den Kindern Cecilia und Louie eine Freude bereiten. Bei ihren aufregenden Abenteuern wird auch der hinterhältige Professor Krummauge auf die Dinos aufmerksam und will aus ihnen angsteinflößende Bestien für seine Show machen. Das können Captain Liebauge, Cecilia und Louie nicht zulassen...
