Pete Bell ist der cholerische aber fürsorgliche Trainer der fiktiven College-Mannschaft Western University Dolphins. Bell steht unter Druck: sein Team befindet sich sportlich im freien Fall und dadurch fällt es ihm schwer, neue Stars für seine Mannschaft unter Vertrag zu nehmen.
