Im Netz der Leidenschaften (1946)
Die schöne Cora vegetiert in einem kleinen Kaff als Gattin eines Tankstellenbesitzers vor sich hin. Als der Vagabund Frank Chambers in die Stadt kommt und die beiden eine leidenschaftliche Beziehung entwickeln, beschließen sie, Coras Ehemann zu ermorden. Ein erster Versuch geht schief. Das nächste Mal klappt es. Beim Mordprozess schieben sich beide gegenseitig die Schuld zu.
