Barton Fink (1991)
Als zu Beginn der Vierziger Jahre der naiv-idealistische Barton Fink mit einem Theaterstück über „den kleinen Mann“ seinen Durchbruch am Broadway erlebt hat, folgt er zögerlich einem Ruf nach Hollywood, wo er vom Filmtycoon Jack Lipnick als Drehbuchautor engagiert wird. Sprach- und ratlos entnimmt der Bühnenautor (der offenbar noch kein Kino von innen gesehen hat) dem Redeschwall des Produzenten, dass er das Buch zu einem profanem Ringerfilm zu schreiben habe.
