Lady für einen Tag (1933)
Annie, Obsthändlerin in den Straßen New Yorks, läßt ihre Tochter Louise, die ein vornehmes Konvent besucht, in dem Glauben, sie gehöre zur besseren Gesellschaft. Als die Louise eines Tages ihren Besuch anmeldet, muss die hochstapelnde Mutter ihr eine Komödie vorspielen und dazu auf die Hilfe ihrer zwielichtigen Freunde zurückgreifen.
