Leo White (geboren als Leo Weiss) wuchs in England auf und begann dort seine Bühnenkarriere. 1910 kam er in die Vereinigten Staaten und arbeitete ab dem folgenden Jahr in Stummfilmen. Typischerweise verkörperte er elegante Schurken vom Kontinent oder Adlige, spielte aber auch häufig ungenannte Nebenrollen und war als Charakterdarsteller in zahlreichen Charlie-Chaplin-Produktionen zu sehen. Mehrere Online-Quellen geben 1882 als sein Geburtsjahr an. Sein Grabstein nennt jedoch eindeutig 1873.
