Ein Mann wie der Teufel (1955)
Marshal Calem Ware führt seit geraumer Zeit einen Kampf nicht nur gegen die von ihm als "Biest" bezeichnete Stadt Medicine Bend, sondern auch gegen sich selbst und seine Gefühle. Kein Mensch soll merken, daß Calem verwundbar ist und seine zur Schau getragene Härte nur Selbstschutz sind. Noch ahnt Calem nicht, daß die Geschäftsmänner Thorne und Clark ihn aus den Weg räumen und die Stadt übernehmen wollen. Sie wollen mit allen Mitteln verhindern, dass das Territorium zum Staat erklärt wird. Revolvermänner kommen in die Stadt. Die Situation wird für Calem nicht leichter, als mit der neuen Revuetruppe auch Calems Frau Tally Dickenson in die Stadt kommt. Vor 9 Jahren hatte sie ihn verlassen, da sie mit der ständigen Angst um ihren Mann nicht mehr leben konnte. Für tot gehalten, erholt sich Ware mit der Hilfe des Arztes Wynn und kann mit seinen Feinden abrechnen, bevor er seinen Job an den Nagel hängt, um mit seiner Frau einem ruhigeren Leben entgegen zu ziehen.
