Der Mann, der zu Weihnachten kam (1949)
Ein junger Mann, den Gangster während seiner Militärzeit um seine Bar gebracht haben, raubt 10.000 Dollar aus dem Safe der Ganoven, um sich zu entschädigen. In einem Armenwohnhaus findet er Unterschlupf. Beeindruckt von der Arbeit der Sozialhelferin ändert er seine Fluchtpläne und prellt die Gangster, als sie ihn aufgespürt haben, auf einfallsreiche Weise ein zweites Mal. Unterhaltsame Mischung aus Krimi, Komödie und Melodram, menschlich ansprechend und in der Hauptrolle ausgezeichnet gespielt.
