Killer Joe (2012)
Als dem 22 Jahre alten Drogendealer Chris sein ganzes Geld von seiner eigenen Mutter gestohlen wird, steckt er ganz schön in der Klemme: Er muss schnell 1.000 Dollar auftreiben oder er ist tot, denn mit dem Gangster Digger Soames, dem er diesen Batzen schuldet, ist nicht zu spaßen. Nachdem er erfahren hat, dass seine Mutter eine Lebensversicherung über 50.000 Dollar abgeschlossen hat, wendet er sich in seiner Verzweiflung an „Killer Joe“ Cooper. Das Problem: Eigentlich will der Auftragskiller und Detective im Voraus bezahlt werden, doch er macht eine Ausnahme. Im Austausch verlangt er allerdings Chris' junge Schwester Dottie als Pfand. Nun muss sich Chris fragen, ob er bereit ist, seine Schwester dem mysteriösen Mann zu überlassen, nur um aus dem Schlamassel zu kommen oder ob es nicht noch einen anderen Weg gibt...
