Matthew David McConaughey (* 4. November 1969) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Nach seiner Durchbruchrolle in Dazed and Confused (1993) wurde er zunächst durch romantische Komödien wie The Wedding Planner (2001) und How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003) bekannt. Ab 2011 änderte er jedoch den Fokus seiner Karriere und widmete sich anspruchsvolleren Rollen, was als „McConaissance“ bezeichnet wird. Seine gefeierten Darstellungen in Filmen wie Mud (2012), Magic Mike (2012) und The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) mündeten in einem Oscar als Bester Hauptdarsteller für Dallas Buyers Club (2013).
