EDtv (1999)
Ed Pekurny ist ein ganz normaler Typ, der meint, er hätte wenig zu verlieren, wenn er sich als Hauptdarsteller für eine neue, "wirklichkeitsnahe" Fernsehshow verpflichtet. Die Sendung wird praktisch über Nacht zum Publikumserfolg, und der sympathische, etwas einfältige Videoverkäufer entwickelt sich zu einer nationalen Berühmtheit. Alles läuft bestens... bis Ed sich Hals über Kopf in Shari, die Freundin seines Bruders Ray verliebt. Sehr private Momente werden plötzlich Thema öffentlicher Unterhaltung, und die Einschaltquoten schnellen hoch, weil Millionen von Fans diese reale Seifenoper voller Witz und Romantik miterleben wollen...
