Chick stammt aus einer Familie mit einer langen Tradition im Showbusiness. Sein größter Wunsch war es, in die Fußstapfen seines Großvaters, des Stuntmans Chick Yelton, zu treten. Schon als Kind begann er seine Filmkarriere mit Printarbeiten und als Zeitungsjunge in der „Jackie Gleason Show“. Später moderierte Chick mit seinen Schwestern die lokale Kindersendung „The Skipper Chuck Show“ in Miami. Seine professionelle Stuntkarriere startete er in der Pilotfolge von Miami Vice unter der Anleitung des legendären Stuntmans und Stuntkoordinators Paul Knuckles. Auch heute noch arbeitet er als Stuntman und Stuntkoordinator für Kinofilme und Fernsehproduktionen.
