Die US-amerikanische Filmschauspielerin und Sängerin zählt zu den größten Stars des 20. Jahrhunderts. Von der Filmgesellschaft "20th Century Fox" aufgebaut, avancierte sie in den 1950er Jahren zum archetypischen Sexsymbol und zur Filmikone. Ihren internationalen Durchbruch feierte Marilyn Monroe 1953 mit "Wie angelt man sich einen Millionär" und "Blondinen bevorzugt". Zu ihren populärsten Filmen zählen weiter "Das verflixte 7. Jahr" und "Manche mögen’s heiß". Monroe verkörperte in Ihren Rollen, mit Weiblichkeit und Sinnlichkeit, das naive und unbeholfene Mädchen in einer von Männern regierten Welt.
