Guy Pearce ist ein australisch-britischer Schauspieler. Bekannt geworden ist er durch seine Hauptrolle als Rächer ohne Kurzzeitgedächtnis in Memento von Christopher Nolan. Geboren wurde Guy Edward Pearce am 05. Oktober 1967 in Ely, England als Sohn eines Neuseeländischen Pilots und einer Lehrerin. Als er drei Jahre alt war, zog seine Familie mit ihm nach Geelong, Australien. Sein Vater starb dort durch einen Flugzeugabsturz als Guy Pearce 9 Jahre alt war. Im Alter von 16-22 war er erfolgreicher Amateur-Bodybuilder und gewann einen Titel als “Mr. Natural”. Schon immer war Guy Pearce an der Schauspielerei interessiert. Bereits als er noch jung war, trat er in mehreren kleinen Stücken auf. Erste Bekanntheit erlangte er 1985 als Darsteller in der australischen Fernsehserie Nachbarn. Seinen Durchbruch schaffte Pearce mit einer Rolle als Drag Queen in Priscilla – Königin der Wüste. Große Beachtung fand Guy Pearce auch durch sein Schauspiel in den Filmen L.A. Confidential oder The Proposition – Tödliches Angebot. Leider geht seine Fähigkeit, diverse Akzente nachzuahmen, in den deutschen Synchronisationen verloren. 2012 war er gleich in drei Produktionen zu sehen: in dem Genre-Beitrag Lockout, in einer kleinen, aber nichtsdestotrotz wichtigen Rolle im lange erwarteten Prometheus – Dunkle Zeichen und in seiner dritten Zusammenarbeit mit John Hillcoat nach The Proposition und The Road, Lawless – Die Gesetzlosen. Aktuell lebt er gemeinsam mit seiner Frau Kate in Melbourne, Australien, wo er auch Theater spielt.
