The Rover (2014)
Im australischen Outback einer nahen Zukunft hat Eric schon viel Leid gesehen und erlebt. Mittlerweile scheint der bärtige Mann völlig abgehärtet gegen seine gefährliche Umwelt und die darin lebenden, feindsinnigen Menschen zu sein. Mit der Zeit sind ihm nach und nach sämtliche menschliche Eigenschaften abhandengekommen. Doch dann wird ihm sein geliebter Rover, sein letztes Heiligtum, von einer Gruppe skrupelloser Kleinkrimineller gestohlen. Eric hat Glück im Unglück: Reynolds, einer der Diebe, wurde von der Gang auf der Flucht zurückgelassen und kann ihn womöglich zum Versteck der Bande führen. Ohne Gnade macht sich Eric auf die Jagd nach den Missetätern und muss dabei gezwungenermaßen mit dem labil und naiv wirkenden Gangster zusammenarbeiten.
