Evita (1996)
1952. Les funérailles de la belle Evita Perón, morte d'un cancer à l'âge de 33 ans, rassemblent une foule gigantesque dans les rues de Buenos Aires. Petite fille, la malheureuse n'avait pu assister aux obsèques de son père, dont elle était une enfant illégitime. Devenue une splendide jeune femme, elle décide de tenter sa chance au théâtre, dans la capitale argentine. Mais c'est la radio qui lui donne un début de popularité. Elle épouse le colonel Juan Perón, comploteur notoire, de 24 ans son aîné. Quand celui-ci accède au pouvoir pour instaurer une dictature fascisante, Evita passe pour insuffler une dimension sociale au régime. Mais la corruption et le népotisme règnent, et Evita ne manquera pas d'y succomber...
