The Cooler (2003)
Un film in cui si mescolano abilmente dramma, commedia e amore. Ambientato nei casinò più scintillanti di Las Vegas, racconta le vicende di Bernie Lootz, un giocatore la cui sfortuna è contagiosa. Per questa sua "capacità" viene coinvolto in loschi traffici dalla mafia del gioco d'azzardo locale. Nel frattempo incontra e si innamora di una bellissima cameriera che inizierà a portargli fortuna così da capovolgere la sua situazione. Ma il perfido direttore del casinò cercherà in tutti i modi di contrastare questo amore e tornare padrone del gioco e della vita di Bernie.
