Il re ed io (1956)
Il re dell'arretrato stato di Siam sa bene che è necessario che il suo paese si apra al diffondersi della civiltà occidentale. Per questo decide di affidare l'educazione dei suoi figli ad Anna Lenowens, una vedova che cerca nuova vita in Oriente. Nonostante la differenza di carattere, il re e Anna finiscono per apprezzarsi al punto che la donna diventa consigliera del sovrano e intermediaria nei rapporti con le nazioni straniere.
