The Homesman (2014)
Mary Bee Cuddy è una donna di 31 anni che vive da sola nella frontiera americana. Per gli standard dell'epoca, è una zitella senza alcuna speranza di trovare marito, soprattutto fra gli uomini primordiali che popolano il Far West. Poichè però è in gamba quanto e più di loro, Mary Bee si assume l'incarico ingrato di trasportare tre donne uscite di senno attraverso il fiume Missouri e fino all'Iowa, da dove verranno rispedite negli stati dell'Est da cui provengono. Mary Bee carica le tre donne su una diligenza che pare una prigione e si prepara a partire. Ma sa di non potercela fare da sola, e ingaggia un vagabondo cui ha salvato la vita, e che dice di chiamarsi George Biggs. Insieme, George e Mary Bee si avventurano lungo un viaggio impervio e ricco di incognite. Riusciranno nella loro missione (quasi) impossibile?
