Alaska (1996)
Sei mesi dopo la morte della moglie, Jack Barnes lascia Chicago per trasferirsi con i due figli adolescenti a Quincy, un paesino in Alaska. Jessie accetta il trasferimento ma Sean no e rimprovera al padre di non pensare a loro. Jack una sera, durante una discussione in casa, viene chiamato per portare medicinali in un paese vicino. Mentre è in volo l'aereo si schianta a causa del maltempo. Dalla base si pensa sia morto ma i figli non si rassegano e partono alla ricerca del padre. Durante le ricerche i due ragazzi intanto liberano un cucciolo di orso polare catturato da Perry, un bracconiere che rivende gli orsi sul mercato. L'orso si mette al seguito dei suoi salvatori e risulta alla fine decisivo, sia quando aiuta il padre ad uscire dall'aereo, sia per dare una lezione al malvivente.
