Partita d'azzardo (1939)
Un paesino è dominato da una banda di furfanti che eleggono come sceriffo un vecchio ubriacone. Questi, in un risveglio di dignità, chiama in aiuto il figlio d'un famoso pistolero pensando che sia degna progenie del padre, ma invece il giovane ostenta d'odiare le pistole. Disperazione degli onesti. Il ragazzo, però, è estremamente astuto e riuscirà a trovare le prove per incastrare i banditi. Inoltre, quando i fuorilegge uccideranno l'ubriacone, farà vedere di essere in gamba anche coi pugni e con le armi.
