James Maitland "Jimmy" Stewart è stato un attore americano di cinema e teatro, noto per la sua voce distintiva e la sua persona da uomo qualunque. Nel corso della sua carriera, ha recitato in molti film considerati classici e ha ricevuto una nomination a cinque Premi Oscar, vincendo uno in competizione e ricevendo un premio alla carriera. Fu una grande star sotto contratto con la MGM. Ebbe anche una carriera militare di rilievo ed era un veterano della Seconda Guerra Mondiale e della Guerra del Vietnam, raggiunse il grado di Brigadier Generale nella Riserva dell'Aeronautica degli Stati Uniti.
