Nella società del futuro le strade sono come arterie malate dentro cui scorre sangue infetto. Lo Stato tenta di arginare la criminalità con un corpo speciale di poliziotti motorizzati disposti ad accorre e combattere fino alla morte. Uno di questi, Max, si prodiga dividendo il suo tempo fra il servizio e la vita nella casa solitaria dove vive con la moglie Jessie ed il figlio.
