Diane Colleen Lane (nata il 22 gennaio 1965) è un'attrice e produttrice americana. Nata e cresciuta a New York City, Lane ha fatto il suo debutto sullo schermo all'età di 14 anni nel film di George Roy Hill del 1979 A Little Romance. Laurence Olivier, che ha interpretato un ruolo di supporto nel film, l'ha definita "la nuova Grace Kelly". I due film che avrebbero potuto catapultarla allo status di star, Streets of Fire e The Cotton Club, sono stati entrambi fallimenti commerciali e di critica, e la sua carriera ha languito di conseguenza. Dopo una pausa, la Lane tornò a recitare per apparire in The Big Town e Lady Beware, ma non fece un'altra grande impressione su un pubblico considerevole fino alla popolare e acclamata miniserie TV del 1989 Lonesome Dove, per la quale fu nominata per un Emmy Award. È apparsa in quattro film diretti da Francis Ford Coppola: The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, The Cotton Club e Jack. Ha recitato in un film diretto da sua moglie Eleanor Coppola: Paris Can Wait. Ha anche interpretato il ruolo ricorrente di Martha Kent, la madre adottiva di Superman, in Man of Steel (2013) ed è apparsa nei film successivi del DC Extended Universe.
