Drei Schwestern aus Montana (1938)
Montana, 1904: Die couragierte Apothekertochter Louise Elliott heiratet den Sportreporter Frank Medlin und zieht mit ihm nach San Francisco. Sie stellt ihre Wünsche hintan, um für ihn zu sorgen. Frank verzweifelt daran, dass er ihr kein besseres Leben bieten kann. Eines Tages stiehlt er sich als Matrose davon. Louises Herz ist gebrochen, doch auch ihre Schwestern, die mondäne Helen und die bodenständige Grace, haben Liebeskummer.
