Gegen jede Chance (1984)
Terry Brogan ist ein alternder Football-Spieler aus L.A. und hat Geldprobleme, weswegen ihm das Angebot seines Freundes Jake Wise gerade recht kommt: Er soll sich auf den Weg nach Mexiko machen und dort Jessie Wyler, die Freundin von Wise, aufspüren. Sie ist außerdem die Tochter eines reichen Immobilienunternehmers, dem das Footballteam, in dem Brogan spielt, gehört. Die Suche führt ihn in den mexikanischen Dschungeln auf die Insel Cozumel, wo er die Vermisste findet und sich in sie verliebt. Es entwickelt sich eine Beziehung und Brogan beschließt, seinem Auftraggeber nichts von ihrem Aufenthaltsort zu verraten. Doch nach ein paar Wochen verschwindet Jessie plötzlich und geht zurück nach Los Angeles. Terry versucht herauszufinden, was sie zurückgetrieben hat und macht sich auf die Suche nach Antworten...
