Schönste der Stadt (1941)
Der Zahnarzt Biff Grimes erhält einen Notruf. Ausgerechnet sein verhasster Jugendfreund Hugo Barnstead kommt mit Zahnschmerzen in seine Praxis. Hugo hat Biff stets übervorteilt. Durch einen faulen Trick hat er ihn ins Gefängnis gebracht, er ist Schuld am Tod von Biffs Vater, er hat seinem damaligen Freund noch dazu die Frau seiner Träume ausgespannt. Der Zahnarztstuhl bietet eine optimale Gelegenheit, sich zu rächen. Doch als Biff sieht, dass Hugo vom Leben genug gestraft ist, überlegt er es sich anders.
